Tim C. Custis

Certified Public Accountant

Tim is a Magna cum Laude graduate of the University of Illinois at Springfield. Tim began working with the firm in 1988 and became a principal in 1992.  Mr. Custis serves as the Vice-President of the corporation and manages the firm's satellite office in Washington, Illinois.

Mr. Custis has served as Chairman of the Illinois CPA Society's Governmental Report Review Committee, which reviews reports of auditors from around the state to be sure that auditing and reporting standards are being adhered to. This self-regulatory activity of the CPA Society provides Tim the opportunity to be on the "cutting edge" of GASB (Governmental Accounting Standards Board) pronouncements. Tim has also served as a speaker on governmental reporting topics for the Illinois CPA Foundation, and the Illinois Association of School Business Officials, providing other practitioners with continuing professional education.

Mr. Custis also serves in the firm's tax practice with an emphasis in the Estate Planning area. Mr. Custis works with individuals (pre-death) to try to reduce possible death taxes, and also works with families after a loss in preparing the required tax returns and making elections that can often save Estate Taxes, even after death.

Tim is also actively involved in his community.  Living in Washington, IL he was elected to serve on the Washington Community High School Board of Education and is currently the President of the Board. Tim had previously served on the Washington District 52 Grade School board and served two years as President of that Board.  Tim has also been very active serving on committees at his church and actively supports the booster organizations at all of the schools.
